Remy Laser Therapy®

Chronic heel pain, tendon irritation, and lingering inflammation can make every step uncomfortable. At Premier Foot and Ankle, we offer Remy Laser Therapy®, an advanced, non-invasive treatment designed to reduce pain, accelerate healing, and help you return to daily activities faster, without injections or surgery.

What is Remy Laser Therapy?

Remy Laser Therapy® is a Class IV therapeutic laser treatment that uses targeted light energy to stimulate healing at the cellular level. The laser penetrates deep into soft tissues, increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, and promoting faster tissue repair. Unlike surgical lasers, this therapy does not cut or burn tissue. It is safe, comfortable, and performed in the office setting.

When is Remy Laser Therapy Recommended?

Remy Laser Therapy® may be recommended when conservative treatments have not provided adequate relief or when patients want to avoid more invasive procedures. It is commonly used for:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction
  • Ankle sprains and ligament injuries
  • Arthritis of the foot and ankle
  • Neuropathy symptoms
  • Stress injuries and overuse conditions
  • Post-surgical healing support

How Does the Remy Laser Work?

Remy Laser Therapy® works by delivering concentrated light energy deep into injured or inflamed tissues. This light stimulates the mitochondria within your cells, increasing the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which fuels cellular repair and regeneration.

As circulation improves, oxygen and nutrients are delivered more efficiently to the damaged area. At the same time, inflammatory markers are reduced, helping to decrease swelling and pain. This combination of enhanced cellular energy, improved blood flow, and reduced inflammation promotes faster healing of tendons, ligaments, fascia, and joint tissues in the foot and ankle.

How is Remy Laser Therapy Performed?

During the procedure, a handheld laser device is placed directly over the affected area. The treatment typically lasts 5–15 minutes, depending on the condition being treated. Patients often feel a gentle warming sensation, but the procedure is generally painless. A series of treatments is usually recommended to achieve optimal results.

What to Expect During Recovery After Remy Laser Therapy?

There is no downtime following treatment. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Some individuals experience gradual improvement over several sessions as inflammation decreases and tissue healing progresses. Your provider may recommend stretching, supportive footwear, or physical therapy to enhance results.

What Are the Risks and Complications of Remy Laser Therapy?

Remy Laser Therapy® is considered very safe when performed properly. However, as with any medical treatment, potential risks may include:

  • Temporary mild soreness
  • Skin sensitivity in the treated area
  • Minimal risk of irritation
  • Not recommended over certain areas (e.g., active malignancy or direct eye exposure)
